Biography

Indie Courtney was born in 1997 in Sacramento, CA. Their film work has been screened at a variety of festivals and venues including the Stuttgarter Festival for Expanded Media in Germany, SPLICE in Brooklyn NY, REDCAT, and others. They have collaborated on video installation work with composer Eve Beglarian. After moving back to Sacramento they completed a variety of projects including two self published photo books and zines, a self produced group exhibition. Their photos have been featured in the Brea Gallery and the Glasgow Gallery of Photography. Their solo shows, 'Of the Machine', and 'The Light Was Singing Too' was shown at California Institute of the Arts. They are also a musician and play synth for Los Sindes, along with their solo projects. They graduated from California Institute of the Arts with a BFA in photo and media in 2025.
